Witnesses Report Speed May Have Been A Factor In Fatal Lamborghini Crash On Nolensville Pike

A 28-year-old man was killed recently when he was ejected from his Nissan Altima in a crash involving a Lamborghini on Nolensville Pike. According to police, the victim was struck as he attempted to make a left turn out of the parking lot of an Autozone near where the accident took place.

The driver of the Lamborghini slammed into the driver’s side of the Nissan, throwing the victim out of this car and turning the Nissan on its roof. Police ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash but pointed out the crash may have been caused by the victim’s failure to yield the right of way to the other car.

However, witnesses report seeing the Lamborghini traveling southbound down Nolensville Pike at an incredibly high rate of speed. One witness believed the sports car may have been traveling as fast as 100 miles per hour.

Local media outlets claim to have seen surveillance video from the area showing the Lamborghini may have been speeding. Police put out a statement saying they would take all evidence into consideration when determining the proximate cause of the tragic accident.

Importance of police reports in auto accidents

Police play a very important role in how fault is determined in auto accidents. Not only can their reports have an impact on criminal or administrative actions, their testimony can play a huge part in whether or not auto accident victims are able to receive the compensation and justice they deserve.

While the accident in this tragic case was fatal, all drivers able to do so should take certain steps to ensure their side of the story is heard. This can include things like:

  • Staying on the scene to talk to police;
  • Collecting the names and information of witnesses who saw the accident;
  • Gathering evidence like photos, video, and other important information from the scene;
  • Seeking medical treatment immediately to document one’s health; and
  • Speaking to a qualified Nashville auto accident lawyer.

While the law gives auto accident victims the legal recourse to be compensated for their injuries, wrongdoers and their powerful insurance companies often attempt to skirt their responsibility and deny liability. In these situations, victims may need the help of an experienced Nashville auto accident lawyer to ensure their voice is heard by the courts.

Depending on the circumstances of the case, car crash victims may be able to receive compensation for various damages including, property damage, lost wages from missing work while recovering, medical bills, hospital expenses, pain and suffering, and mental anguish. In tragic fatal auto accident, surviving family members may be able to bring claims on behalf of their deceased love one to recover for their loss of support and to recoup burial expenses.
