Joseph Swafford was born and raised in Southeast Tennessee, where he resides today with his family. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies from Georgia State University before pursuing a career in the legal profession. After obtaining a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Chattanooga State Community College in 2017, he attended the Nashville School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 2023.

Since earning his Juris Doctor and being admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2023, Joseph has practiced with Calhoun Law PLC, representing clients primarily in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice. His advocacy experience includes presenting oral argument before the Tennessee Court of Appeals and delivering a closing argument in a federal jury trial before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. When he is not practicing law, Joseph enjoys playing guitar, spending time with his dog, and reading history books.
