Two Killed, One Injured in Single Car Accident

A man and a woman were killed with a third person injured in a single car accident on Interstate 40 recently. According to the Nashville Metro police, an older Honda CEX was speeding eastbound on the interstate just past the Charlotte Pike exit around 1:50 p.m. on a Sunday when the crash happened.

The police report states that for an unknown reason the vehicle traveled off of the road, hit a rock wall, crossed back across the interstate, and collided with a retaining wall. Once it struck the retaining wall, the car flipped upside down and ejected all three occupants from the vehicle. Thankfully, no other vehicles were struck by the Honda or hit the vehicle once it came to a stop on the interstate.

All three passengers were identified as from Dickson, Tennessee. Michael Dombrowski, 29, and Sarah Pierce, 23, were declared dead at the scene of the accident. Benjamin Benayce, 35, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition. Police are unclear as to who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, but it does not appear as though drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
